Traveling For Holidays in Taiwan

Taiwan is an excellent Asian travel destination and one that is not nearly as talked about as it should be. Taipei is the capital and largest city of Taiwan and it is a melting pot of diverse cultures and ethnicities with a fast-paced and vibrant entertainment and technology industry. The culture contains elements of Japanese and Chinese cultures, as does the cuisine.

Since Taiwan consists of mostly Chinese people, the major holidays and festivals re the same as the ones in China (Mooncake, Hungry Ghost, Dragon Boat Festivals, CNY, etc). Despite the fact that Taiwan is a very modernized and industrial country, there are also several natural landmarks throughout the island nation, such as the Taroko Gorge. If you are ever in Taiwan, a few things that you should definitely do are: attend Spring Scream, see the Cherry Blossoms, and visit a hot spring.

One place in Taiwan that not many people know about but is an incredible tourist destination is Jiufen. Jiufen was once a gold mining town but now has become a beautiful and spiritual town that is an ideal place to relax. The town was also what inspired the setting in the famous Japanese movie “Spirited Away”. All in all, spending your holidays in Taiwan would be an excellent decision and it will give you experiences that you will never forget.
